Looking and finding gifts = all over, all the time

I went off to the local gym.. and at the robots close to my house I chatted to the guy selling the Big Issue. As I ride this road often we have got to chatting while I wait for the robot to change. On one occasion I have bought the Big Issue’ from him in order to support his smiling disposition.  The reason being he always has a smile and time to chat to people irrespective if they buy the magazine or not. Well while chatting to him today in the pouring rain I noticed he had stitches above his eye so I asked him what happened. He said the Totsies had attacked and robbed him on Saturday and he woke up to find himself in the hospital. And he looked me in the eyes saying “I am so happy to be alive”….. WOW… and off I rode thinking of his story and making a plan to give him some money on my return.

While hitting the gym with a vengeance I notice a little old lady pacing around with her walking stick looking at the equipment and I am thinking there is no way she can even get on half the gym equipment.  When she passed me I ask her if she has had a good walk about and she says she has identified equipment that she will use. So I comment that I think she will need help as some of them appear a little high for her to get on and off. She agrees. So while chatting I explain how the equipment works and in the discussion she tells me she was paralyzed and she had to learn to walk and talk again. She told me that she had been in a car accident and she was flung out and was unconscious for two months. . WOW.  (I leave thinking that the gym needs to create some support for people like this. )

On my way walking back to the office I see something in the sea and two dolphins are playing in the shallow water.. sooooo close. And I am thinking what an awesome gift my favorite animal just metres away. Pure Bliss.

So on my way back to work I am thinking gee what awesome lessons from my outing. These are a few of them:

  • It is not what happens to one that pans one’s life forward but the choice you make about the event.
  • Choice is the biggest gift one has.
  • Talking to random strangers is a way to getting an abundance of free ‘gifts’ that support one’s personal growth.
  • If one’s energy resonate from love and compassion you will be rewarded.
  • And a reminder of having an attitude of gratitude, you only have to look around you to see how many are worse off than you.
